Glasgow Labour MSP Anne McTaggart has presented Macmillan Cancer Support with a cheque for £210.30 which was raised as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Ms McTaggart made the presentation to Ryan Taylor from Macmillan Cancer Support alongside representatives from the Blairdrum Community Centre in Blairdardie where Ms McTaggart hosted the coffee morning on the 28th September. In addition to the money raised at the coffee morning, volunteers and visitors to Blairdrum collected over £90 in their Macmillan money cans. Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event has raised nearly £19 million so far this year, eclipsing last year’s £15 million record total.
Ms McTaggart said “It was a pleasure to host this event and take part in such a fantastic fundraising campaign. Like many of my constituents, I have family and friends who have had cancer and I know how important Macmillan can be in providing help and support to individuals in such difficult circumstances.
It’s important that we continue to raise awareness of the fantastic support they provide. I would like to thank Macmillan for all the help they gave in organising the morning and also the people at Blairdrum Community Centre who gave up their time and effort in helping to ensure the success of the event.”
