Anne McTaggart MSP congratulates Cara Hilton on by-election triumph

Glasgow Labour MSP Anne McTaggart has offered her congratulations to Cara Hilton on her resounding by-election victory in Dunfermline.

The Labour candidate won 10,275 votes, a majority of nearly 3000 over the SNP, to become Dunfermline’s new MSP following the resignation of shamed Bill Walker.

Ms McTaggart said “I would like to offer my warm congratulations to Cara Hilton on her stunning victory. She fought a great campaign on local issues and will make a great representative for the people of Dunfermline. It will be a pleasure to work alongside her at Holyrood. I was out campaigning in Dunfermline over the past few weeks and there was a fantastic reaction on the doorstep so I was delighted with Cara’s success.

I would also like to congratulate Billy Pollock and Stuart Gallacher on their council by-election victories in Dunfermline South and Hamilton South respectively. These victories send out a clear message to the SNP –  stop obsessing about separation and start putting the interests of the people of Scotland first.
